    1. The Gods were with us and with our inspectors who were actually human!

    1. It's 3.5 years since the last one! We did have one to award us enhanced dyslexia status last year.

We did even better this time under a more rigorous inspection regime so we are relieved ... and very pleased.

This will be my last. What a super feeling that is - but then you know all about that!

  4. Do they spend more time testing schools than pupils? Or does it just seem that way :)

    1. It's a 2 day inspection every 3-5 years. I don't like them but I suppose that's reasonable!

  6. OMG... I could say a thing or two to them now ... especially when once they told me I could not teach the word "metamorphosis" to 6-8 year olds!!!!!!! My argument then was that children could read and understand long words like Tyrannosaurus Rex and Diplodicus and long words like "elephant" but could not read the word "and" !!!!! AND children love challenges! I was down graded because of all of that! Just ignore them. Imagine they are flies on the wall, then get those plastic hand swats at the ready!!!!!Remember the word: NICE ... it stands for Nihi illegetimi carborandum est" !!!!! Bon courage:):):):)

    1. This was the most positive team I ever remember. They were looking for good embedded practice (should that be a c or an s?)and engaging lessons and switched on kids. That's what they found!

This will be my last ever OFSTED. I won't miss them!

  7. A Head in a Catholic School once told me he thought it stood for "O Father Send Them Eternal Damnation!"

You'll be fine. Thinking of you xx

    1. Thanks.

I have to be careful what I say as OH is a former OFSTED inspector, but our team were rigorous but also very human. Still, I'm glad it's all over!

  8. It's such a shame that it matters so much to so many people. I somehow think you will be absolutely fine. Gaynor. Show 'em how it's done!

  10. Not sure how it all works, we had to go to the school that was the nearest and we had to travel a lot with the Royal Air Force .. some people cannot send their children to great schools , which is a shame ,, they should all be the same . Only my opinion ,,
