The ‘wiggly-jigglies’…

A few months ago Tom emailed Tim to say that he had a case of the ‘wiggly-jigglies’. He was waiting to find out whether he had been accepted to take part in the JET – Japanese English Teaching - programme.

He was accepted, and tomorrow he will be on BA flight 005 heading for Tokyo and then on to Kagoshima, in the very south of Japan.

Guess who’s got the ‘wiggly-jigglies’ now?

    1. I'm very, very happy... for Tom, but just a teeny bit miserable for myself!

  3. How exciting for him, and what a wonderful experience. However, if it was one of mine going away, I would have the 'wiggly-jigglies' too.

  5. That is a very cute photo of Tom -- looking just like his father! The wiggly-jigglies is a great expression. I really admire young people of his age who are confident enough to go off and do these things. You are rightly really proud of him.

  6. Good on him for going on such an adventure! On the plus side now you will have the perfect excuse to go and visit Japan :-)

  7. Windows have not closed, doors are wide open. As with James and the Giant Peach, there is an adventure about to begin! A new story! Pack your bags now, so you are both ready to go see him once he has settled! Seize opportunity for we know not what tomorrow brings. Bon courage! Tom will have students falling at his itchy feet. Best to go trav'lin' when young!

  8. Congratulations to Tom, who looks a lot like a young Tim! :) You both can be proud of your son. I wish him all the best in Japan. My thoughts are with you too, because - although I don't have any children - I can very well imagine how a mum feels when yet another one is leaving the nest. Courage and hug, Martine

  9. Wonderful that he seeks such an adventure - more young folk should be like him. But I understand your misgivings as a parent. But what fun to have an excuse to visit Japan.

  10. It's a long way and a wonderful adventure. Glad I don't have to face the flying of the nest just yet...though the eldest has the urge to go to South America. At least he'll be able to speak the language there. I admire Tom very much - and not just cos he's gorgeous - and like his dad, obviously!
