There's only one thing worse ...

... than a day at Alton Towers and that's a cold, wet and miserable day at Alton Towers!
The park was packed with school groups and I felt rather sorry for the people who'd gone for a family day out only to be confronted by hoards of kids.

The Corner Cafe, aka the teacher's lounge!
Still, my class had a wonderful time. Better still, it marked the end of term …

My class enjoyed themselves, not so certain whether I did!

  3. Never mind, the kids will have had a great time anyway. I'm pleased to say that I managed to avoid accompanying the annual Alton Towers trip ( I took kids to York and Venice instead ! ) in my teaching days many years ago.
Welcome to France. Have agreat summer. Jx

    1. Thanks, Janice.

The kids had a great time and took great delight in getting even wetter. Alton Towers is very close to where we live, so an ideal summer EOT visit.

I quite fancy a trip to Venice. I wonder whether it can be arranged?

    2. My trips to Venice involved me....history teacher, with my friend who was the art teacher. We took a group of delightful 6th formers who were doing both history and art. It was an amazing trip, in those days when such things were possible and the school provided cover for our lessons, no questions asked, just recognising what a great opportunity it would be for the kids. 4. Reminds me of Chambord or Chenonceau on a hot morning in June, when the French teachers take their pupils, sometimes as young as 5 year olds, to visit the famous castles. As an adult tourist, you don't stand a chance :)!
Have a lovely holiday in France and give my regards to any friends you might meet! Martine

  5. We once met a group of 14-year-olds touring the Sancerroise brewery - you can't get away from them at certain times of the year! Welcome back to France P.
