Gone in a flash ...

It’s not often that Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins ride their bikes within half a mile of your house. Well, last week they did and I wasn’t there to see them! Stage 5 of the Tour of Britain Cycle Race came up Sandon Bank en route from Trentham Gardens.

Mind you, even if I had been there to see them I doubt that I could have picked them out from the peloton. Tim and Tom went to cheer them on and found it hard to identify individual riders.

This rider was getting a helping tow up Sandon Bank!

It wasn’t the Tour de France but it did bring a little bit of excitement to the end of our lane.

I was at work so missed it all …..

  1. Hello Gaynor:
It is always exciting when something completely out of the ordinary happens on one's doorstep! Who said that living in the country was dull?

Oh dear, the classroom rather than the country lane for you. Still, someone has to do it!!!

    1. I'm enjoying my reduced commitment. I still need a kick to remind myself that there are certain things I must leave for others to do - as they are now getting paid the oodles of money to do it! ;o)

  3. What a shame you missed it, still someone took some great pics for you. I almost feel exhausted looking at the cyclist getting the tow, it just looks like such hard work!

  5. I know what it is like when the TDF flashes past, it is very quick! We know the teams and the cyclists well but it is still not that easy to pick up who is who. Take care Diane
