The Otome Toge Maria Seido Chapel and Shrine, a place where 36 catholics were martyred. This is now a place where many catholic believers visit.

Taikodani Inari Shrine, built to pray for the peace and security of Tsuwano castle. Now believers visit to pray for good harvest of rice and prosperity, improvement of fortune or protection from evil.

  1. It's a great adventure and great photos, is that Tim showing the scale of that 'arch'. It's massive! Don't think I could take to or enjoy the food though... C

  2. I quite like European or American versions of sushi but I struggled with some of the more "out there" Japanese items while there. They almost seem to take a perverse pleasure in seeing how far you as a visitor will go in tasting different things! I never could get used to Japanese style breakfast! Having said that, the food looks wonderful in your photos. The temples are lovely too.

    1. They must have many of each dish as every guest has the same dish in the same China. There must have been 25 people eating breakfast. I don't remember the same dishes being used at breakfast and dinner, either.
